I also wrote all the effects, descriptions, and instructions for the various cards we came up with. The action cards were created through brainstorming sessions with Andrew and I and I finalized the writing for all of the cards.

Caroline also came up with different pieces for the players to represent themselves on the board. Each piece is made out of various damaged electrical components glued together to create figures with a post-apocalyptic feel to them.

Escape from the Burning World in the Year 2027

This is the instructional video for a boardgame I created along with my friends Adam J. Thompson, Andrew Chang, Caroline Hermans, and Anna Henson.  The game started off as a loose riffing on Candy Land and developed into a darker and much more strategic game involving dice as well as a full deck of cards that allow players to perform different actions, interact with other players, change the layout of the board, and more!

All editing on this video was done by Adam!

Here is the full board. It was designed by Andrew who did both the layout of the tiles as well as the background illustrations.

The next few images show a handful of the cards that are in the deck for this game. They include movement cards, action cards, and event cards. I came up with the names and descriptions for all of the cards. The coloring, layout, and graphical design was done by Caroline.

Player Characters

These next four cards are player characters who were designed by Anna. She also wrote all the flavor text for the characters to give them personalities and make them feel more lifelike.
