For this project we recreated the aesthetic sensibilities of an online, digital, genre of art with physical objects and lighting. We emulated vaporwave with physical special effects in place of computer generated graphics. These effects also evoke the idea of older computer graphics from the late 70's and 80's including vector graphics, Tron-like glowing grids, and rotating meshes or solid shapes. We used a variety of materials including glow in the dark tape to create realistic vector graphics, and lighting gels and dimmers to create physical lighting effects and color mixing which emulate the vaporwave style.
